Description
In 2011, up to twenty-four $3,000 scholarships will be awarded to in-coming college sophomores, juniors and seniors who plan to major in areas that would lead to a career in manufacturing for the academic year 2011-2012. Cleveland Scholarship Programs (CSP) will select the recipients. Scholarships will be awarded based on the applicant's academic achievement, motivation, participation in leadership activities, recommendations from university/college faculty familiar with the applicant, personal statement and multicultural background.
Applicants will be notified by May 31, 2011.
Requirements
Applicants must be students pursuing a degree (with a minimum of one year completed) at the following institutions:
California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo
Carnegie Mellon University
Georgia Institute of Technology
Indiana University
Michigan State University
North Carolina State University
The Ohio State University
Purdue University
University of Michigan
University of Minnesota
University of Pittsburgh
University of South Carolina
Applicants must be students who are authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship and plan to major in areas that would lead to a career in manufacturing. The applicant must submit a resume which highlights that the applicant is actively involved in leadership activities and submit two letters of recommendation from university/college faculty. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must submit a copy of their unofficial transcripts. Finally, the applicant must submit a personal statement (500-600 words) on the following topic:
Explain the importance of diversity and inclusion at a global manufacturing company like Eaton, with multiple levels of employees and describe how leadership plays a vital role in sustaining diversity and inclusion.
