Recession-proof: Finding Work When Few Are Working

Dana Golden joined the United States Department of Agriculture Economic Research Service in Kansas City, Missouri as an agricultural economist in 2019. She primarily serves as an oilseeds outlook analyst for the crops branch and helps to write the oilseeds outlook report and associated data product. She also works with and publishes the season average price futures forecast model, and state agricultural trade export and import data product.

Dana will be discussing her career after graduation, her work in data analytics, policy analysis, and forecasting at the ERS, and job search and interviewing strategies.

Dana received her BS in Economics in 2018 and her MS in Economics in 2019 from Georgia Tech. She is also currently enrolled in the Online Masters of Science in Analytics program at Georgia Tech. During her time at Georgia Tech, Dana interned with the Defense Finance and Accounting Services, participated on the debate team, was a teaching assistant for a philosophy class, and tutored student-athletes.

In her free time, Dana enjoys mathematics, tutoring (currently focusing on Syrian refugees from Clarkston Georgia), writing screenplays and other short works of fiction, designing and playing board games, and participating in standup comedy.
