Join us for a virtual Impact session on Wednesday, March 3 from 5 pm to 6 pm for a conversation on the role of servant leadership in creating more just and caring organizations between retired President of Starbucks, Howard Behar, and Director of Leadership at the Institute for Leadership and Social Impact, Dr. Robert Thomas.

Mr. Howard  Behar's career in business spans over 50 years, all in consumer-oriented businesses covering several industries. He retired from Starbucks Coffee after 21 years where he led both the domestic business, as President of North America, and was the founding President of Starbucks International. During his tenure, he participated in the growth of the company from 28 stores to over 15,000 stores spanning five continents. He served on the Starbucks Board of Directors for 12 years before retiring.

Mr. Behar now serves on several boards, including  iD Tech, Education Elements and the advisory board of  Anthos Capital. His non-profit commitments are to the University of Washington Foundation, UW Business School mentoring program and as a Trustee for The Sheri and Les  Biller Family Foundation. Mr. Behar is committed to the development and education of our future leaders and has been a longtime advocate of the Servant Leadership Model. He has also authored two books on leadership titled  It's Not About the Coffee and  The Magic Cup.

Dr. Robert 'Bob' Thomas is the Director of Leadership at ILSI, and a thought leader in the servant leadership space. He developed the curricula on the topic at Georgia Tech, served as Chair of the Board of the Greenleaf Center on Servant Leadership (named after the founder of servant leadership, Robert Greenleaf), and has been promoting the tenants of servant leadership among student and faculty at Georgia Tech through various programs he founded (like the Leadership Roundtable, and Servant Leadership Seekers).
