Engaging in Conversations with Peers about Teaching

*********************************
There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Dissatisfied with the feedback that CIOS provides about your teaching?  Wish that you had another way to gather insights about your instructional methods?

Research indicates that student evaluations should not be the sole source of feedback on teaching. As a result, many faculty have turned to colleagues for critique and suggestions. Yet without training, it is easy for peer observers to fall back on their own teaching preferences or overly focus on content.

At the Center for Teaching and Learning, providing feedback on teaching is part of what we do. In this workshop, we will suggest frameworks and tools that you can use to enrich your conversations about teaching.  Join your colleagues, and consider how collaborating with one another might lead to substantial discussions that inform your practice.
