There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Assistant Professor Ashwin Pananjady joined ISyE in January 2021. He also holds a joint appointment with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interests lie broadly in statistics, optimization, and information theory, as well as their applications in data science, machine learning, and reinforcement learning. He is particularly interested in statistical and computational problems arising from high-dimensional data with geometric structure.

Pananjady received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer sciences (EECS) from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.Tech. in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. During his doctoral studies, he spent a couple of summers working in industrial research labs at Amazon and Microsoft. He is a recipient of the inaugural Lawrence D. Brown Ph.D. student award from the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, the David J. Sakrison Memorial Prize for his dissertation research from EECS at Berkeley, a Swiss Re Research Fellowship in Probability, Geometry, and Computation in high dimensions from the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing, an Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor award from UC Berkeley, and the Governor's Gold Medal from IIT Madras.
