There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

The above schematic illustrates a conjugated polymer film in an electrochemical cell.

The above schematic illustrates a conjugated polymer film in an electrochemical cell. The film is imbibed with a variety of charged species – both electronic and ionic. The increasing applied potential (shown as a voltage dial) triggers a redox process that changes the charge density in the polymer. The authors investigate the changes occurring in the polymer throughout the redox process using sophisticated optical technique involving two lasers – one that is a single energy to excite the sample (green arrow), while the second is a range of energies to study the excitation (multi-colored arrow).”
