No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Come explore one of Atlanta's lesser known parks in the Boulder Park neighborhood and appreciate some beautiful fall foliage! Great way to de-stress, meet friends, and appreciate nature :)
Please provide your own transportation to the park if possible and meet us at 10:00 at the park. If you need a ride, we will be meeting at 9:30 at the CULC turnaround to carpool. Masks are required at all times, and social distancing will be maintained. Hope to see you there!
See one of Atlanta’s less known parks in the aptly named Boulder Park neighborhood. This park hosts a beautiful section of Utoy Creek after the North and South Forks have combined to create a large creek, nearly a small river, that runs on to join the Chattahoochee River just a few miles to the west. As the creek widens, we find sand bars and boulders, and Basket Oak, rare in our area, is also found in the floodplain. A wide array of wildlife are at home here—we’ll look for tracks.
We’ll walk approximately 2 miles on natural trails on on flat terrain, and we’ll have time to stop to make photographs in several locations.
