Georgia Tech's CEISMC STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Workshops are workshops for students in 6th through 8th grade. STEAM Workshops encourages students to study and pursue a career in the STEAM fields by exposing them to many different topics of science and engineering along with technology. App and Game Development

Interested in creating mobile apps and games? This fun-filled week for students teaches the basics of    App/Game creation for a variety of mobile (iOS and Android) and computer platforms (Mac, Windows, Linux) using the free visual development environment Construct 3.

Requirements:
Laptop or Computer, (Windows, Mac, or Chromebook), internet access, and headphones.

Chemical Mystery

Can you change the color of a liquid without using food color? What do the color changes mean about your liquid? Explore the acidity and basicity of common household items in chemistry of pH experiments.

Supplies and Requirements

  • Blender
  • Bowl
  • ½ of a red cabbage
  • 14 small clear plastic cups (for example, clear 2 ounce portion cups)
  • Knife and cutting board (to chop cabbage)
  • Paper and pencil
  • Permanent marker
  • Pipette or eye dropper
  • Safety goggles
  • Strainer
  • Test liquids: Ammonia, baking soda in water, clear soda (7UP), finger nail polish remover, hydrogen
  • peroxide, laundry detergent, lime juice, milk, mouthwash, orange juice, salt water, shampoo, vinegar, and water
  • Water (about 4 cups)

COVID Kidpreneur!

Learn the basics of entrepreneurship and how you could get started developing a product or your own company even during a pandemic. Students will use problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity to develop and enhance their business ideas.
