There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

This lecture will explore the current context for construction informatics research by highlighting a number of local and global trends in the construction industry and beyond. Some of these include the move towards more integrated and collaborative project delivery methods, the global energy crisis and the role that buildings have to play in addressing it, the growth in applications enabled by cyber-infrastructure, and the increasing adoption of informatics in healthcare delivery. Drawing on examples from his recent and ongoing research projects, Professor Anumba will discuss how research in construction informatics is addressing the new challenges and opportunities.
