There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Survey finds climate scholars take more flights on average per year — but make greater effort to offset their emissions. “You need to have a frequent series of meetings to keep up with the data, to advance our findings, to make sure that they are disseminated across the community,” says Kim Cobb. She was shocked to find out that about 80% of her personal carbon emissions in 2017 came from air travel. Since then, she’s been trying to fly less. “I have no plan to get on a plane again.”
