With Election Day 2020 upon us, it’s time to take stock of our political and cultural climate and discuss how we can move forward together.
Join us for an online discussion moderated by Associate Professor Richard Barke of the School of Public Policy and panelists Michael Elliott, associate professor, School of City & Regional Planning; Edward Botchwey, associate professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering; and Sonia Alvarez-Robinson, executive director of Georgia Tech Strategic Consulting, to discuss takeaways from the election — what we have learned from the election, what our nation’s politics might look like over the next four years, and how we all can contribute to productive discussions about important issues facing our country. Also:
· After the 2020 election, what is the “new normal” in American politics?
· Are we as divided as we’re told? About what do we agree?
· Civil discourse and productive disagreement: what role for the university?
