Rev. Warnock is one of 20 candidates running in the election to finish out the last two years of retired senator Johnny Isakson’s term. Senator Kelly Loeffler, appointed by Governor Brian Kemp after Sen. Isakson’s retirement, has been serving in the position since Jan. 2020. Learn more about the Senate special election on Ballotpedia. Note that this is different from the other Senate race between Sen. David Perdue, Jon Ossoff, and Shane Hazel, which is for a full six-year term.
Rev. Warnock will be answering general questions written by the government relations committee, as well as specific ones for him from students. While not every question will be able to be asked, those interested can submit questions for Rev. Warnock here before Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.
The town hall doesn’t equal an endorsement by the government relations committee of Rev. Warnock’s campaign. The committee reached out to all of the candidates polling over 15% in the race (Sen. Kelly Loeffler, Rep. Doug Collins, and Rev. Warnock) and was only able to schedule town halls with Rev. Warnock and Rep. Collins, who had to reschedule for a date that’s still being finalized.
