If you listen to Neil deGrasse Tyson's StarTalk podcast, you might have heard a familiar voice, recently. Daniel Guggenheim School professor Marilyn J. Smith was talking drones with Tyson and his cohosts, as well as Drone Racing League founder Nicholas "Nick" Horbaczewski. They had a pretty lively talk about the past, present, and future of drone design and racing. The realistic drone racing simulations are made possible by Smith's unsteady aerodynamics drone research, which Horbaczewski calls “ground-breaking”.
