Ten faculty Ivan Allen College faculty members, were chosen for the campus-wide programs as Provost's Teaching and Learning Fellows, and as Class of 1969 Teaching Fellows.

Three tenured Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts faculty were named Provost's Teaching and Learning Fellows for the 2020-2021 academic year. The program "connects the expertise of evidence-based teaching and learning professionals in the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) with the expertise of disciplinary faculty in each college/school" and looks to "strengthen teaching and learning in the colleges through an embedded system of on-going instructional support and special initiatives."

The faculty members selected were:

  • Laura Bier, associate professor, School of History and Sociology
  • Kirk Bowman, associate professor, Sam Nunn School of International Affairs
  • Julia Melkers, associate professor, School of Public Policy

The Teaching and Learning Fellows serve two-year terms and are given annual stipends.

Seven tenure-track faculty members were named Class of 1969 Teaching Fellows for the 2020-2021 academic year. Members of the cohort have access to professional development resources and gather for to activities meant to "broaden perspectives with insight into evidence-based best practices and exposure to new and innovative teaching methods."

The fellowship program is open to untenured assistant professor, who also receive a $1,000 stipend for additional projects and activities.
