Georgia Tech students, faculty, and staff can now develop hosted online blogs, portfolios, and project sites through Sites@GeorgiaTech, a new online web presence service delivered by the WordPress hosting platform, CampusPress.

Sites@GeorgiaTech was introduced to simplify how student groups, project teams, and individuals create their web presence. The new platform replaced the popular Professional Web Presence service in late July and will replace websites hosted by Prism Web after Sept. 20. With Sites@GeorgiaTech, users can quickly and easily create WordPress-powered websites for research, publications and projects, blogs, initiatives, conferences, and more. Users can customize their sites by adding media and other interactive features using built-in tools and optional plugins.

While many colleges and departments leverage Drupal on Plesk hosting for unit websites, Sites@GeorgiaTech is recommended for building sites that represent:

  • A professional portfolio for any student, faculty member, or staff member.
  • A professional blog.
  • A student organization.
  • A special project for class, research, or an organizational initiative.

Unlike Drupal on Plesk hosting, Sites@GeorgiaTech manages plugin and application updates so users can focus on creating and curating site content. CampusPress also provides 24/7 dedicated end-user support to Sites@GeorgiaTech users.

Visit sites.gatech.edu to learn more about the service or to a create new website.
