On Sunday, August 16 and Monday, August 17, DramaTech will be auditioning for our 2020 Open House Show. You will be auditioning for a set of 5 short student-directed acts, which we call “experiments.” Two of these acts are musical, and three of them are non-musical. When you fill out your audition form, you will be asked which type you want to audition for, but you can audition for both!

Sunday auditions for this show will be entirely in-person, while Monday auditions are for virtual submissions:

Directions

  1. Fill out the audition form at this link
  2. Look at the options for sides below
  3. Select either: 1 non-musical side, 1 musical side, or 1 of each to perform
  4. Practice your selected piece(s)
  5. Record a video audition (see below for guidelines)
  6. Submit your final video(s) to openhouse@dramatech.org by 8 pm on Monday, August 18

Video Audition Guidelines

  1. Have a neutral background.
  2. Have adequate lighting that allows us to see you.
  3. Film yourself where you can be seen from the waist up.
  4. Slate the beginning of your audition with:
    1. your name
    2. which side you are reading
  5. If you are reading a non-musical side, make sure you have someone who can read the other lines for you.  Place them near your camera so that we can see as much of your face as possible. Your voice should be louder than your reader’s.
  6. You may submit your videos as one collection or individual files.  Files most likely will not be able to be send directly via email.  I recommend you upload your files to:
    1. YouTube
    2. Vimeo
    3. Dropbox
    4. Or some other site of your choosing.
  7. Send your completed video(s) to openhouse@dramatech.org
