[Abstract Submission Deadline Extended to July 15] 2021 Symposium "Nanostructured Materials: Plasmonics in Nanocomposite Materials" at TMS Annual Meeting and Exhibition

*********************************
There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Nasrin Hooshmand, senior research scientist in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, is co-organizing this symposium:

Keynote speakers are Prof. Mostafa El-Sayed (Georgia Institute of Technology), Prof. George Schatz (Northwestern University), Prof. Younan Xia (Georgia Institute of Technology), and Prof. Stephan Link (Rice University).

This is an opportunity for the students to participate and share their ongoing research with a diverse audience of peers—scientists and engineers working in the field of Nanostructured Materials, as well as those working in a broad range of other minerals, metals, and materials fields. The meeting attracts representatives from industry, academia, and government, as well, with nearly 70 nations routinely represented. This mix of backgrounds and experiences allow you to reach a diverse audience at a single event.

You may be uncertain about submitting an abstract because of the COVID-19 pandemic. I completely understand and know that TMS is aware of the concerns and uncertainties surrounding travel plans at this time. We are moving forward with our plans for a safe, enjoyable, and professionally rewarding event, and we encourage you to do the same. TMS will be working closely with the meeting venue to incorporate the prevailing guidance and event planning best practices for the safety of attendees. If plans for the event change, organizers and presenters will be among the first to know.

We’re looking forward to a successful symposium and an energizing meeting.

Looking forward to seeing you in Orlando!

Stay safe,
Nasrin
