Alumnus Robert Cervero (MCP '75/MCSE '75) and co-author Reid Ewing produced this paper to help planners respond to the demand from states and localities to help reduce the automobile costs and associated health and social costs. Planning practitioners can use their work that includes elasticities to adjust travel or activity models to take into account variation in the built environment and possibly for sketch planning applications in climate action plans or health impact assessments.
