There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Moki Macias (MCRP '11) comments on Mayor Kasim Reed's approach thus far to crime in Atlanta: "It seems like he can come out really strong when something happens, but we are not seeing him be proactive in addressing violence throughout the city and addressing the root causes of it.” Her comment is in line with others who believe that, aside from many successes during the mayor's first year, there are long-standing problems in Atlanta neighborhoods that have yet to see improvement.
