Salimah LaForce’s proposal, COVID-19 Information Access & Vulnerable Populations, received a notice of award from Georgia Tech’s Executive Vice President of Research COVID-19 Rapid Response Seed Grants program. The purpose of the research is to understand how and when people with disabilities and older adults first heard about COVID-19, how they currently receive COVID-19 information, actions taken in response to the messaging, and any access barriers they have experienced. Study results are anticipated to enhance the development of more effective preparedness and response messaging strategies and inform planning for people with disabilities and older adults. This research is informed by Wireless RERC research on the accessibility of emergency communications.
