We are witnessing a dramatic growth in demand for mobile and wireless connectivity, driven by increase in data diversity and volume, emerging application domains, and new societal norms. This trend is exposing deep gaps in the capabilities of the broadly available network infrastructure to provide adequate connectivity. This talk will showcase some exciting developments towards addressing this gap, including increased availability of open source mobile network technologies and emergence of edge computing. It sees connectivity as a critical public infrastructure required for all.
