There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. “Accepting [the proposed tax-reform recommendations] could put Georgia on the forefront of tax reform by shifting the tax burden from income taxes to sales taxes," said Georgia Tax Reform Council member Christine Ries, a professor in the School of Economics. She added, “States that aren't reforming are instead boosting taxes on a smaller and smaller number of taxpayers and suffering as a result.
