There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Abstract:
This thesis proposal envisions novel integrated photonic framework to realize a fully integrated quantum-photonic processor, compatible with microelectronic platform for further integration with high-speed electronics. This would provide a path toward integration of classical and quantum processors on a single chip. For this purpose, it is necessary to study the fundamental requirements for efficient interconnecting, and interaction between different parties forming the hybrid system, i.e., interfaces, to establish a framework to be used in high-speed photonic processors and quantum photonic chips. This thesis provides novel scheme in realizing high-speed photonics interconnects, generating photonic entangled states, and also providing an appropriate interface between atoms and photons on a chip.
