No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Full Summary:

An update on academic issues due to the cancellation of classes at the start of the Spring 2011 term.

Due to the cancellation of classes at the start of the Spring 2011 term, the Registrar’s Office has announced that Phase II registration has been extended to Friday, January 21, at 4:00 PM. Similarly, the fee payment schedule has been extended: the deadline for paying fees without penalty is now 4:00 PM on Monday, January 24.

The change in Phase II registration impacts several other dates on the academic calendar, which is under review by the Registrar's Office and will be revised as soon as possible. Students should monitor http://registrar.gatech.edu/calendars/spring11.php for the most current information.

Third, campus leadership has initiated discussions about classes — particularly those that meet once a week — and whether make-up sessions might be necessary or desirable. Guidelines will be provided for the academic units and each class instructor will notify his or her students of any scheduled make-up classes.

Students should continue to monitor local media as well as www.gatech.edu for future updates regarding campus operations.
