There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Professor Harley Etienne remarks on Mayor Kasim Reed's decision to redevelop English Avenue through the Prince Charles' Foundation for the Built Environment. Etienne questions the foundation's previous design-driven work and opines that the redevelopment should focus on the people that live in the neighborhood. He believes that the neighborhood's revitalization needs a social approach that runs deeper than a design approach because "the neighborhood's physical problems are mere symptoms of the deeper maladies its residents are facing."
