The Bobby Jones Fellowship is a prestigious postgraduate opportunity which provides a direct link between Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

Administered by Georgia Tech's Office of International Education, this fellowship provides funding for one Georgia Tech student to pursue a one-year Master's degree program at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and one St. Andrews student to pursue a one-year Master's degree program at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

Georgia Tech is proud to announce the winner of the 2011-2012 Bobby Jones Fellowship, Michaell Lu.  Contratulations, Michael! 

Michael is a graduating senior at Georgia Tech, earning his BS in Electrical Engineering.   Beginning as a President's Scholar in his Freshman year, Michael has maintained an outstanding academic record, consistently receiving Faculty Honors,  Additionally, Michael works as the Head Homework Teaching Assistant where he not only teaches recitations, but also oversees the homework development over 1000 Computing for Engineers students. Most recently, Michael interned in Washington, D.C. with the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory.  In additional to his academic achievements, Michael is a passionate and skilled musician, as well as a budding humanitarian having spent a summer teaching English to underprivileged children in Taiwan.

Michael looks forward to sharpening his professional skills while learning new solutions and practical applications in order to enrich the lives of others. 

Again, congratulations to Michael!  We trust that he will excel in his new role as this year’s Bobby Jones Fellow.
