Both graduate programs in the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) placed sixth in the new, 2021 engineering graduate program rankings from U.S. News & World Report

The College of Engineering placed eighth in the overall graduate engineering program rankings and fourth among all public engineering institutions. All of the graduate programs in the College ranked in the top 10 of their respective areas for the ninth consecutive year. In terms of rankings among public universities, both our electrical engineering and computer engineering graduate programs placed third, the same positions as last year.

According to Magnus Egerstedt, the Steve W. Chaddick School Chair for ECE, these latest rankings show that many years of hard work and dedication by the Georgia Tech ECE community and its commitment to excellence are noticed by our peers.

“The passion, creativity, and commitment to excellence that I see each day from our faculty, staff, and students are inspiring and invigorating,” said Egerstedt. “All of these traits make ECE a truly special place. Please know that I sincerely appreciate all of your dedicated efforts, most especially during this unusual and challenging time at Georgia Tech, in our nation, and beyond.”

About the U.S. News & World Report Rankings

Rankings for the engineering colleges that provided data were calculated based on a weighted average of 10 indicators, while specific “specialty rankings” (like our EE and CmpE programs) are based on peer assessments.
