There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Full Summary: No summary paragraph submitted.

Microbe-microbe interactions and the oral microbiome

Studies of bacteria living in association with animals, with plants, and in the environment have revealed that microbial communities are complex and dynamic. For a bacterium to persist in these communities, it must be fit with both the native community members and with non-native, invading microbes. Here, I will share work using oral microbiota to explore microbe-microbe interactions. By leveraging both simple microbial communities and next-generation sequencing, this work advances our understanding of how polymicrobial interactions modulate the genes required for fitnessĀ in vivo.
