Madison LeeMadison Lee, a sophomore in the International Affairs and Modern Languages (IAML) program has been awarded the $5,000 Georgia Pacific Scholarship. The award was announced during the Global Women's Initiative Symposium luncheon on November 11. Lee won the award on the basis of her essay on the topic of human rights and how the United States can improve the quality of life for women in countries with turbulent political climates, while maintaining the delicate balance of diplomacy. As a potential solution to the problem, Lee emphasized increased funding of non-governmental organizations that work closely with communities in need of aid and support.
