There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. As work on the new buildings in Phase I of the Campus Center project nears completion, the team is preparing to move critical services out of the Wenn Student Center into the new Exhibition Hall this summer before the building closes for renovation for two years. This transition will create a wave of change across campus as dining options, the post office, and other services shift to temporary locations. Here's what you students need to know:

  • The Georgia Tech Post Office will transition to a space in the Exhibition Hall. In this temporary location we will shift to High Density Mail, a new, more efficient way to host mailboxes for our large community. More details on High Density Mail will be available in the coming months, but the ability to receive and send mail will not change.  Mail services are not expected to stop for more than a day or two during the move, and your student's mailing address will not change as a result of the relocation. As the Postal Services team prepares to move, we ask that you encourage your students to clean out their mailboxes before the end of the semester to ease the transition.
  • There will be several dining options temporarily housed in the new Exhibition Hall, including Panda Express, Chic-fil-A, and other lunchtime staples. The move will be staggered to ensure there is always at least one option available in either the Student Center or the Exhibition Hall.
  • Some of the Student Center's services will go offline for the entirety of Phase II: Tech Rec (our bowling/billiards area) and Paper & Clay (our creative studio). These services will return in late 2022 when the project is complete; in the meantime the Student Center team will provide pop-up opportunities for creative expression and recreational play.
  • Students, parents, and the entire Georgia Tech community are invited for our farewell event on Monday, April 27. This send off will be the last event to be held in the Student Center before its return in late 2022 and commemorates the 50th anniversary of the building's opening. Please join us as we celebrate our rich history and look ahead to our exciting future!

The transition to temporary spaces and operations is expected to be complete by July. There will be more information available after Spring Break at c.gatech.edu/CampusCenter, where your student will be able to locate our services in their temporary spaces. We appreciate you and your students' patience as we create the next!
