There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. The impact of Dobzhansky-Muller site on genome structure

Dobzhansky-Muller sites play very important roles in hybrid incompatibility and speciation over evolution. However, its effect on organismal fitness and population genome structure remains elusive. In this talk, I’ll talk about a detailed study of Dobzhansky-Muller site that is a toxin/antidote system. Using quantitative assays and forward evolution simulation, I’ll show how could this site spread through population and have changed genome structure of the whole population.
