The Center for Latin American and Latino/a Studies at GSU and the Atlanta Global Studies Center invites you to a workshop on developing and strengthening Luso-Brazilian Studies on Friday, February 28th from 10-3:30 pm.

The goal is to develop an action plan to offer targeted and coordinated Luso-Brazilian programming across institutions in Academic Year 2020-2021 to prepare students for academic or career paths related to Lusophone countries/cultures.

We are seeking input from all collaborators and partners to:

1. Get a snapshot of what is currently being offered and identify strengths and gaps in programming and resources

2. Identify complementary programs/courses

3. Develop and/or strengthen international partnerships with institutions and industries that have mutual interests (e.g. film and media industry in Rio and São Paolo)

4. Seek funding opportunities and assemble a grant-writing team

If you currently direct a program or teach a course that includes content on Portuguese, Brazil, and/or Lusophone countries/cultures, we invite you to contribute to a white paper that will be submitted to the Consulate General of Brazil:
