About the Speaker: Jim Mollenkopf is Vice President, Strategic Development at Qualcomm.  In this role he leads efforts with government customers aimed at leveraging Qualcomm's commercial portfolio for difficult national security missions.  Prior to Qualcomm, Jim served as Chief Technology Officer at CURRENT Group, a provider of smart grid and broadband technology and services.  While at CURRENT he drove the strategy and system development of an array of innovative smart grid technologies, served as a key member of several IEEE standards groups, and was awarded 25 US patents.   Earlier in Jim’s career he led satellite payload development and also worked for the federal government. Jim earned a BSEE from Virginia Tech, and lives in Fairfax, VA with his wife and son.
