On Thursday, April 9th, Abigail J. Stewart will visit Georgia Tech to present a seminar on "Creating an Inclusive Culture: Recruiting and Retaining the Faculty We Need."
Abigail J. Stewart is a Sandra Schwartz Tangri Distinguished University Professor of Psychology and Women's Studies at the University of Michigan. She served as the Director of the University of Michigan ADVANCE Program from 2001-2016 and has held various other administrative positions. She holds degrees from Wesleyan University, London School of Economics, and Harvard University. Her current research focuses on academic and life experiences related to race, class and gender, and on political attitudes and activism. Dr. Stewart's recent book, with Virginia Valian, is An Inclusive Academy: Achieving Diversity and Excellence (MIT Press, 2018).
Dr. Stewart's talk on "Creating an Inclusive Culture: Recruiting and Retaining the Faculty We Need." is at 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 9 2020 at the Gordy Dining Hall in the Wardclaw Center. A free reception will follow the event.
