Summary Sentence: Training for individuals working with bloodborne pathogens

Full Summary: This training is required for anyone who is directly at risk for exposure to blood and other bodily fluids.The course helps define what a bloodborne pathogens, how they spread, and how to avoid exposure to infectious material.

Safety in the biological laboratory environment is an important mission of all research personnel at Georgia Tech. This course will discuss all the guidelines, regulations, and management practices for conducting and maintaining a safe laboratory environment when working with bloodborne pathogens. Topics covered include important definitions, routes of entry, major bloodborne pathogens, exposure control, and emergency response. Any person handling human blood or body fluids must take this training every year. 


Who Should Attend? All current and prospective Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and students that handle human blood and bodily fluids.
