There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Title: Wide-band, Quasi-isotropic, km-range RF Energy Harvesters for Perpetual IoT
Committee:

Dr. Durgin
Abstract:
The objective of this research is to develop full-FM-band (full-frequency-modulation-band) and full-UHF-TV-band (full-ultra-high-frequency-television-band), quasi-isotropic, kilometer-range, ambient RF (radio frequency) energy harvesting systems for WSN/IoT (wireless sensor node / internet of things) devices and to validate their operability through detailed field testing with emphasis on real-world usability. The broader impact of the proposed research is to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed harvesting systems that focus on real-world usability, thereby encouraging researchers in the field to also focus their efforts on real-world usability. This has a potential impact to advance ambient RF energy harvesting towards maturation and widespread adoption in WSN/IoT applications.
