Assistant Professor of Architecture Gernot Riether is building a pavilion with his students for the AIA in New Orleans. DesCours - Intense Correlations is a pavilion that can adapt to different natural and artificial environments. The pavilion is constructed from 300 modules that create structure and enclosure simultaneously. The internal geometry of each module responds to specific natural conditions such as solar-context, local vegetation and weather. The size of each module is generated from the overall form of the pavilion that interacts with the physical context of the site. Student team members include Valerie Bolen, Rachel Dickey, Emily Finau, Tasnouva Habib, Knox Jolly, Pei-Lin Liao, Keith Smith, and April Tann.

Purchase tickets to the VIP Review Party on Friday, December 3.
