Georgia Tech Trailblazers invites you to come out to nearby Proctor Creek to learn about the native plants of Georgia and help preserve this wonderful ecosystem by removing invasive English Ivy plants.
This event is in partnership with Eco-Addendum, an Atlanta environmental consulting and advocacy group focusing on community engagement with the urban forest we live in.
Transportation will be provided round trip from Georgia Tech.
Description from Eco-Addendum:
"We’ll have a short intro to the high value of this unusual original forest remnant, followed by a training on how to safely remove English Ivy in more sensitive forest areas. This type of work is perfect for developing a keen eye for identifying and distinguishing some of our native plants from the more common invasives. After ivy removal, we will enjoy a short walk along the beautiful Proctor Creek."
