More than 100 students, faculty, and staff were in attendance for the Georgia Institute of Technology School of Literature, Media, and Communication's (LMC) 2019 Alumnx Bash. LMC Chair Richard Utz reflected on three memorable moments from the celebration, which was held at the DramaTech Theater:

  • "Our amazing alumnx stories, most told in person, some via videos, which demonstrate the degree to which our students' educational experience is shaped by their close collaboration with individual faculty. Clearly, our students love their LMC experience becaus we challenge them, and because we treat them as valuable human beings and include them in our creative activity/scholarship/research.
  • Our amazing hidden talents, which became obvious during several dance interludes.
  • Our alumnxs' willingness to support us in our educational endeavor: Distinguished IAC/LMC alumnus and LMC advisory board member Gene Kansas announced he will support graduate student travel this year via the "DeAnna & Gene Kansas Travel Award."

Kansas, an Atlanta cultural developer and 2016 Master's graduate from LMC's Digital Media program, recently joined the School's Advisory Board.

LMC is a unit of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.
