Georgia Tech and the Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners are collaborating to jump-start research into the possible uses and infrastructure needs of autonomous vehicles in community and business settings. The collaboration draws on Georgia Tech’s expertise as a leading research university in the smart cities ecosystem and uses Curiosity Lab’s 1.5-mile autonomous vehicle test track. Owned by the City of Peachtree Corners, Curiosity Lab is an intelligent mobility and smart city laboratory that provides a unique real-world environment for testing innovative research concepts.
The intent of the Autonomous Transportation and Connected Roads (ATCR) Seed Grant solicitation is to stimulate novel fundamental or applied research ideas and collaborative exploration in the Autonomous Transportation field using Peachtree Corners’ Curiosity Lab infrastructure. Proposals addressing topics related to autonomous vehicle/transportation research and not exceeding $100,000 will be selected for funding. Proposals must also demonstrate potential impact and evidence of future funding opportunities. Interdisciplinary teams are encouraged but not required.
