The educational benefits of spending a semester at Georgia Tech-Lorraine, Tech’s campus in France, are immeasurable. Whether your student chooses to study at Georgia Tech-Lorraine in the Fall, Spring or Summer, they can take the courses they need for their major, stay on track toward their degree, take classes taught in English primarily by Tech faculty, go on faculty-led field trips around Europe, and even conduct research in international labs. Students are required to take 12-14 credit hours in the Spring and Fall semesters, and 10-12 credit hours in the Summer semester, meaning that they are still full-time students while at Georgia Tech-Lorraine.

Students from any major can study at Georgia Tech-Lorraine, as we offer a wide variety of courses each semester. Check out the course lists for each semester here. Classes are held Monday through Thursday and most students travel independently from Thursday evening through Sunday.

The opportunity to spend a semester at Tech’s campus in France and discover Europe on the weekends allows students to grow not only educationally, but also socially. Students get out of their comfort zone, visit new places and learn firsthand about new cultures. Many students decide to attend Georgia Tech-Lorraine without knowing any other students on the program. While this can seem daunting at first, students return with friendships to last a lifetime, and countless new memories!

It is easy to find others wanting to travel in groups and explore the region together. It is also fun for students to join in group activities planned by the Bureau des Étudiants, a student council group that plans events throughout the semester, as well participate in the Leonardo Program, led by a French professor at Georgia Tech-Lorraine and offering students opportunities to attend local events such as Opera performances, lunch at a French culinary school, or a trip to a u-pick fruit and vegetable farm.

Overall, Georgia Tech-Lorraine benefits students both inside and outside the classroom. Students become global citizens and return with the confidence to travel the world. Applications for Georgia Tech-Lorraine are open now for Summer and Fall 2020 at lorraine.gatech.edu/apply.

Although the Georgia Tech-Lorraine experience is priceless, please review our website’s costs page for all details and breakdowns on tuition, program fees and other expenses, and make sure you read and understand our cancellation Policy.
