No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

In November 2017, the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) partnered with the Center for First-Generation Student Success, to launch the inaugural First-Generation College Celebration. The now annual event, which is held each year on November 8 to commemorate the anniversary of the Higher Education Act of 1965, encourages colleges and universities across the country to celebrate the successes of the institution's first-generation faculty, staff, and students.
Across the country, National First-Gen Day is November 8, 2019. This year we will celebrate First Gen students at Georgia Tech with a sticker awareness campaign and interactive tabling event hosted by The Office of Parent & Family Programs, New Student & Transition Programs, STAR, Admissions, and The First-Generation Student Organization. The event will be on Tech Walkway Friday November 8, 2019 from 10:00am-2:00pm. We encourage you to join in our sticker campaign by stopping by our tabling event on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 10:00am-2:00pm. There will be stickers for advocates, faculty, and first-generation students. We would love the support of the Georgia Tech community in advancing an asset-based national narrative on first-generation student experiences and outcomes. Use November 8 to encourage campus communities to better understand the systemic barriers plaguing higher education and the supports necessary for this important and resilient population to continue thriving.
Mark your calendars and wear your stickers proudly!
