Nine graduate students selected for Georgia Sea Grant Research Trainee program

The Georgia Sea Grant Research Trainee program was created to sponsor and support graduate student research projects based on problems in coastal Georgia.This year, two of the nine students selected for the program are of Georgia Institute of Technology. Alex Draper, a doctoral student studying marine biology and ecology, will investigate the impacts of climate change on oyster reef populations. Powei Huang, a graduate student studying chemical engineering, will research methods of extracting lithium from the ocean to be used as energy.
