Among 10 evidence-based tips for retirement, one comes from psychologist Tracy Mitzner of Georgia Institute of Technology. She says: ‘Retirees can take advantage of social networking sites and video-chat technologies, such as Skype and FaceTime, to interact with children and grandchildren who live in other parts of the country or world. Some of these technologies may not be intuitive to the older user, so they may want to take a class, or enlist a child or grandchild to help them get started.’ Mitzner was a postdoctoral researcher and a research scientist in the Georgia Tech School of Psychology.
