2019 Lichten Award Recipient

The Lichten Award is an award given each year by the Vertical Flight Society to encourage students who have not previously presented the results of their rotorcraft-related research at a regional, national, or international event. This session will help new scholars to begin presenting their work at local and regional VFS meetings.. Award winner will be given up to $1500 for travel to the VFS Annual Forum and a $500 stipend. The Georgia Tech VFS chapter has helped many students win this prestigious award in the past.

THIS IS OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS

You do not need to be a VFS member to attend.

The 2019 Lichten Award winner, AE doctoral student Ben Leon, will speak about his experience with the 2019 application process and give an overview of his winning paper entitled:

“Ground and Flight Tests of a Cable-Driven Four-Bar Linkage Robotic Landing Gear for Rotorcraft.“
