Dr. Ferrara will discuss her work in image-guided drug delivery, including:
- synthesis of drug-loaded nanoparticles
- development of imaging systems for guided interventions

Dr. Ferrara served as the founding chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis. She is currently a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis with research interests in imaging and drug delivery. She is a fellow of the Biomedical Engineering Society, the Acoustical Society of America and the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering and is currently a member of the National Advisory Council for the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering.
