The Staff Council gives Georgia Tech’s 3,700 staff members a formal means to communicate with the Institute’s executive leadership. The Council comprises 20 members who proportionally represent five classifications of employees as specified by Tech’s Job Classification and Compensation System (JCCS). Staff Council is now accepting nominations for new members and for committee membership.

During this election cycle, the following seats are available: Administrative and Professional (2 seats); Skilled Trades (3 seats); Scientific and Research (1 seat); Information Technology (1 seat); and Development (1 seat). Elected Council members serve three-year terms.

Full- and part-time staff members may participate. The deadline for nominations and committee applications is Friday, Oct. 11. To nominate yourself or a colleague to serve on Staff Council, or to apply to serve on a Staff Council committee, visit: http://staffcouncil.gatech.edu/staff-council-elections

“I encourage interested employees to nominate themselves or a colleague,” said Virginia Sheppard, development associate in the Office of Development and chair of the Staff Council Communications Committee. “Serving on the Staff Council is a great way to contribute to the betterment of the campus community.
