Abstract: The objective of this proposed research is focused on the development and applications of a wireless tongue tracking system, referred as MagTrack. A small magnetic tracer is attached on the tongue and a localization algorithm estimates its position from its magnetic field recorded by an array of magnetometers. MagTrack has been used in speech applications to recognize speech solely from tongue motion, and assisting people with speech sound disorders to improve their intelligibility.
