Summaries

Summary Sentence: A new collaboration between Tech and Georgia State that streamlines the process for becoming a certified math or science teacher

Full Summary: This new option allows Tech undergrads to earn their BS at Tech, their MAT at GSU, and apply up to 6 hours of credit to both degrees. This is very much like the Tech BS/MS options, but this one includes full teacher certification in one of the middle or secondary teaching fields.

Beth Spencer, the Pre-Teaching advisor, will be conducting an Info Session on the new Georgia Tech-Georgia State BS/MAT option.

This new option allows Tech undergrads to earn their BS at Tech, their MAT at GSU, and apply up to 6 hours of credit to both degrees. This is very much like the Tech BS/MS options, but this one includes full teacher certification in one of the middle or secondary teaching fields.

To read about the program, see the Aug. 11 news release. Another information session will be offered this semester during the last week of classes.

Students must apply to the program prior to completing 90 hours at Tech, so if you are interested and will have 90 hours at the end of this semester, please let Beth know immediately.
