Vinodhini Comandur has won quiz 2 of ScienceMatters Season 3. Vinodhini is a fourth-year Ph.D. student working with Jonnalagadda V. R. Prasad, professor in the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering. She develops real-time guidance solutions and trajectory optimization for pilot-assisted rotorcraft shipboard landing.

Vinodhini hails from Bangalore, India. "What attracted me to Georgia Tech were the facilities, research topics, faculty, and, of course, the climate in Atlanta," she says.

As an avid fan of astronomy and basic science, Vinodhini looks out for events related to these fields. "Ever since I learned about ScienceMatters, I have been following the podcasts and updates on the ScienceMatters website in between my research," she says.

That's how she heard Chris Reinhard's in episode 2, "The Search for Earth 2.0." The quiz question for that episode was:

Chris Reinhard believes that only one exoplanet found so far outside comes close to resembling Earth. What is the name of this exoplanet?

The correct answer is Kepler 452-B.

"The podcast is a great way to learn about new science facts and also to keep myself updated regarding new discoveries," Vinodhini says. "It is a fun way to learn about the mysteries of the universe."
